A paragraph describing a lesson plan you might create that uses technology in some way. Be sure to mention how you will use technology, what technology you would use, and what subject matter and grade level the lesson is for. (See Chapter 2 for ideas)A paragraph in which you provide a visual critique of a web site using the rules presented in Chapter 6. Be sure to link to the site. If you’re up to an extra challenge, include images (screen shots or other sources) in your blog post.A paragraph about your experience with copyright and fair use of materials in an educational environment. How would you deal with these concepts as a teacher, developing your own instructional materials and having students who may use other sources to create their own works?
When I am a teacher, I plan on using a variety of technology to create lesson plans. For example, I will use programs such as inspiration to get the main points across to my students and help them know the key points they need to know for a test or quiz. I would use it to help 3rd grade, which is an important year because of the FCAT. Furthermore, I will also use MS Word to make outlines, draw up the actual lesson plans. Additionally, for younger students I would use programs such as Middle School Advantage 2009 software which covers a variety of subjects. It however, has an excellent portion which allows students to learn more about the Civil War and the reconstruction. I would have specific days in which i try to utilize technology within the classroom, and rotate between different learning styles from week to week.
A visual critique of a lesson plan online would be from http://www.teach-nology.com/teachers/lesson_plans/. When you first go to the site everything is organized and separated into different subjects and lessons. The colors are all calm and soothing and create almost a calming atmosphere for the website. The links are useful because you can select what you are looking easily whether it be printable worksheets or lesson plans or you can search the site via subject and grade.
All throughout my educational career, my teachers had stressed the importance about doing your own work and citing resources and material used on projects and essays. As a teacher myself I will uphold the standards set for plagiarism. Since I will be teaching upper grade levels, I will try to use turnitin.com when I have them write essays. I feel like this not only motivates them to use their own material, but holds them accountable for their actions. In the beginning of the year, I will provide my students with a guideline for what is and is not plagiarism, and teach them how to properly cite their material. If a student was caught using other works for their own papers and etc, I will follow the proper procedures dictated by the school for the child's punishment. I would also, however, try to explain to the student where they went wrong and how they could have avoided plagiarizing with proper citations in the future.
